Our hearts weep and our minds stand still as our one and only Professor Mihaela Irimia, our dear Mickey, is no longer among us.

Her gifts to us have been countless, and we owe what we are today, intellectually, morally and institutionally, to her rectitude of spirit, her true love of knowledge, her unfailing quest for the valuable and the meaningful. And yes, to her flamboyant, humorous, restless personality. She has left her mark on the several generations of scholars who are now part of the BCS team and we cannot choose but carry on her legacy.

May her soul rest in peace.
