General FAQ

For queries related to our admissions procedure, please write to britishculturalstudies@lls.unibuc.ro

You can also visit the official website of the FLLS for further information about the admission procedures for 2022.

When do admissions take place?

Admissions to the MA programme in British Cultural Studies of the University of Bucharest take place twice a year – there is a session in July and another in September.

How can I find out the exact application and admission dates and deadlines?

The admissions calendar and all relevant information are posted in the featured content of our website as soon as they are officially announced, which is usually in the second half of May or in June.

How many available tuition-free and full-tuition spots are there?

The exact number of tuition-free and full-tuition spots offered by our MA programme differs every year. Details about the available spots are posted in the featured content of our website as soon as they are officially announced, which is usually in the second half of May or in June.

Who is eligible to apply for our programme?

Candidates may be students holding a Bachelor’s Degree in any branch of the humanities or the social sciences, although we are willing to consider degrees from other disciplines on an individual basis.

What are the admission requirements?

All candidates must demonstrate a good command of the language of instruction, i.e. English. The interview that Romanian, EU, EEA & Swiss candidates take does not only test the candidates’ level of English, but also their understanding of cultural phenomena based on the admission bibliography.

Please note that general information about MA admissions can also be found on the official websites of the FLLS and UB, which are regularly updated. Also, international candidates are advised to consider that the above FAQ are primarily relevant for Romanian, EU, EEA & Swiss candidates. The admission requirements and procedures are slightly different for non-EU candidates, which is why they should contact the International Relations Office of the University of Bucharest to find out more and complete the admission process. All non-Romanian candidates should check the International Candidates section on our website.
