BA in Philology (Arabic-English), Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures, University of Bucharest, 2019
My research interests include colonial and postcolonial studies, as well as racial and gender inequalities and imagology. I became fascinated with these topics during the English Literature lectures I attended as an undergrad, when I encountered texts such as Joseph Conrad’s Heart of Darkness and Jean Rhys’ Wide Sargasso Sea, the latter actually representing the subject I examine in my BA paper. Therefore, I have chosen to continue my studies at this complex MA programme in order to gain better critical and analytical skills, valuable knowledge and experience through the enlightening courses about British art, the discourse on national identity and the history of ideas. In addition to these, the multidisciplinary and flexible structure of this MA encouraged me to apply here.
