My scholarly interests include Victorian literature, literary theory, cultural criticism and twentieth century novels. In my BA paper I investigate the postmodern and dystopian workings of Orwell’s 1984 and Murakami’s 1Q84 with an eye to metatextuality, mimesis, and literary ownership. The expansion of my theoretical arsenal into more culturally-minded approaches, therefore, indicates a natural progression. I am particularly interested in the courses on identity construction, cultural identity, and cultural globalization.
