After graduating from the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures, I decided that pursuing a master’s program in cultural studies would be an extremely wise decision. Not only because in this master’s program I have the opportunity to apply and deepen my knowledge of what I have previously studied, but it would also allow me to practice in a wider variety of fields. Knowledge of two or more foreign languages plays a very important role in finding a stable career, but cultural studies is able to provide an academic perspective on areas such as historiography, philosophy, cultural anthropology, sociology, literature and art, teaching students to apply critical thinking. More specifically, cultural studies deals with social institutions that play a role in shaping culture. Cultural study competences create the premises for working with people with diverse worldviews, which is essential nowadays in most careers.
