Daniela Cârstea is associate professor at the English Department, University of Bucharest, where she teaches a graduate course in cultural anthropology, an elective course in trauma studies and relational psychoanalysis (therapeutic narrative strategies) and undergraduate courses in literary critical theory and British literature. She was post-graduate research fellow of the École Normale Supérieure, Paris, France and recipient of a Fulbright doctoral research scholarship at Emory University, Institute of Liberal Arts, Atlanta, USA. She is associate editor of the University of Bucharest Review. Literary and Cultural Studies Series (UBR).
