As a graduate of the Languages and Literatures department, I have always been keen on enhancing my academic research skills, developing a higher level of cultural comprehension, and studying literature alongside arts and media. Thus, the MA programme in British Cultural Studies aligned with my research interests and will most definitely enable me to further my ideal career as I want to pursue a Ph.D. in the field of literary studies.
As for my passions and scholarly concerns, I am particularly interested in both American and British classic literature, the Victorian Era, cinematography, identity studies, and occultism. My latest research paper sheds light upon the loss of identity and the social status of housewives within a stereotypical suburban marriage in Richard Yates’ Revolutionary Road. Hence, I look forward to broadening my knowledge through this interdisciplinary MA programme.
