BA in Philology (English and Swedish), Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures, University of Bucharest, 2023
My passion for the English language and British literature dates back as far as I can remember, so, after finishing my BA in Philology, it seemed only natural to continue my studies with an MA programme. One of the reasons why I chose BCS is its multidisciplinary nature, offering classes which cover so many of my interests, and its broad scope, encouraging me to think critically about British culture (but also about the world in general).
I wrote my BA research project, “A permanent blur in the corner of your eye: Awareness and Scriptedness in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead,” on how insights of the character’s awareness of the nature of their reality shine through in the metadramatic aspects of the play. Some of my interests include metafiction, the ways in which artists play with(in) their medium of choice, British art (especially landscapes), and gardens as historical spaces in between the natural and the human-made; and I look forward to expanding my knowledge in fields I have not yet had the chance to study.
