BA in Philology (English and Romanian), Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures, University of Bucharest, 2021
I have always been fascinated by narratives about British royalties and culture. As a former student of philology, I enjoyed Victorian literature and tried to find meaning behind the nonsense lines of the theatre of the absurd. For my BA thesis, I sought to provide an insight on how the dominant culture interferes in the process of literary production by employing a materialist analysis on John Green’s Paper towns. I have decided that this MA programme will suit me best in my pursuit to understand British identities and culture, as many of the courses will help me improve my critical perspective on media and cultural products.
