During the three years of my BA studies I had the chance to familiarise myself with two very different cultures with different approaches to literature and the arts: English and Korean culture. Along the way I became interested in the way cultures influenced each other over the course of time and how they interact in this age of Globalisation. The interdisciplinary feature of this MA programme allows me to explore varied fields of interest related to culture, from theatre to visual arts, providing the opportunity to acquire the skills needed to continue my research in those topics.
What I love most about literature and storytelling is being able to analyse the construction of characters through different critical lenses. For this reason I chose to write my BA research paper on Jungian archetypes in Oscar Wilde’s The Picture of Dorian Gray, focusing also on the dynamics between these archetypes.
