BA in Philology (Romanian and English), Faculty of Letters, University of Bucharest, 2025
As an avid reader, my passion lies in exploring and comprehending diverse cultural landscapes, driven by a desire to discover new perspectives of the world. This deep interest, particularly in the English language and British culture, is the cornerstone of my decision to pursue this MA in British Cultural Studies.
My BA thesis, titled “The Musical Effect in Fixed-Form Poetry in the Works of Mihai Eminescu and George Bacovia – Case Study: The Sonnet and the Glossă,” demonstrated my ability to conduct close textual analysis by employing stylistic elements and examining sound interpretations by personalities such as Ion Caramitru and Bacovia himself. This previous work has provided me with a solid foundation in interdisciplinary analysis, a skill I am eager to apply and expand within the context of British Cultural Studies.
Graduating with a major in both Romanian and English, I see this MA programme as the ideal setting to cultivate my analytical skills and deepen my understanding of cultural phenomena. The rigorous research environment provided here is essential for my growth as a developing young academic.
