The Centre of Excellence for Cultural Identity (CESIC) is a research centre within the University of Bucharest, which has hosted a number of research projects. CESIC is present on the ERRIS platform at the following link: https://erris.gov.ro/CESIC-UB. Its main research areas are: cultural identity in context (material culture, institutions, values and cultural practices and rituals); cultural specificity (spiritus loci, Zeitgeist, the religious backdrop, the exchange of cultural ideas and processes between different cultural communities); forms of cultural interaction (dialogue, acculturation, adaptation/adoption, rejection, suppression); cultural diversity vs. cultural relativism; cultural tolerance and globalization. In terms of infrastructure, our centre has 1 computer, 2 Printers, 1 laptop, 1 TV, 1 overhead projector and 1 portable projector, as well as a well-equipped library of over 5000 volumes on cultural studies and access to the University of Bucharest databases. It is an excellent place for the dissemination of research (as it is attended by many graduate and undergraduate students).
The following research projects have been organised under the aegis of CESIC:
