During my BA at the Faculty of Letters, I especially enjoyed exploring how literature engages with its immediate social reality and is shaped by it. The Cultural Studies MA felt like a natural continuation of this focus. I am curious about how culture influences everyday life and how people express meaning, identity, and resistance through media. I approach these questions through my personal areas of interest, music and its associated subcultures, video games and other forms of mixed media, politics, and alternative ideological perspectives.
I believe cultural studies offer a powerful way of analysing and challenging mainstream beliefs. This work feels increasingly important today, as dominant viewpoints are used to justify injustice and discrimination.
